Here's a tasty treat my roommate made the other night - based off the yummy breakfast biscuit sandwiches at Perly's.
Just take Grands Rolls and split them in half. Shape each into the cups of a muffin tin.
In a bowl, mix about 6 eggs, 3/4 cups cheddar cheese (shredded), and 1/2 pound cooked sausage. Drain the sausage before adding it, please, and save yourself the arterial plaque. Season with salt and pepper.
Mix everything together.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes, then increase the heat to about 375 and bake another 5 minutes - or until the bread and eggs are cooked through.
What should the final product look like? Since you are adding raw eggs, when do you know when they are completely done? How much sausage do you use and is there any kind you would recommend? Sorry for all the questions!
ReplyDeleteSorry, I'm getting to this a little late, but use about 1/2 pound of sausage for the 16 bites. You know the eggs are set when they slight jiggle on top - just slightly. Turn off the over and leave the bites in for another 5-10 minute. The eggs will keep cooking. Any kind you like is fine - I like a hot sausage myself.
